Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas
Ins. company demanding salary repaid
I worked for Mutual of Omaha for 3 months, in that time I submitted over 30 life insurance policies. I got my draw plus bonus for meeting quota. I left them in December to work for a chemical company, which is what I did before entering the Insurace field. Now Mutual of Omaha, is demanding I pay them $5,000 and have a collection agency after me. I think it's all sour grapes because why should I owe them anything if they'll collect on these policies for the next 20 years. I don't want my credit ruined, can I sue them or what? How can I stop this Billion dollar company from harrasing me?

Re: Ins. company demanding salary repaid
Do you have an employment contract? If so, it likely identifies what each party's responsibilities are.
Your question does not explain why they think you owe them $5000.
If your contract says that the policies have to pay for a certain period of time, and some have cancelled, then the insurance co adjusts the amount of earned commission. Not sure if that is your question.
