Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

I am involved in a lawsuit with an attorney representing Citibank S.D, over credit card debt. I was served about 6 weeks ago, and I filed my answer. About 3 weeks ago, I was sent a plaintiff's request for documents, disclosures, admissions and interrogatories. I t states that I have 30 days to respond to them. I am considering filing for bankruptcy, or even reaching a settlement with the plaintiff, however I haven't reached a firm decision. I am having difficulty understanding how to fill out the document. Should I do the best I can, or ignore it because I might file chapter 7? A trial date has not been set as of yet.

You need to be VERY sure that you answer the REQUEST FOR ADMISSIONS within the time period. It doesn't have to be anything fancy; it can look like this:

No. 11-56556

Citibank In the Justice Court

vs. Precinct Two, Position Three

John Smith Hanover County, Texas

ANSWERS TO REQUEST FOR ADMISSIONS

1. Denied.

2. Denied.

3. Denied.

4. Unable to admit or deny.

Respectfully Submitted,

BE SURE TO MAIL THE ORIGINAL TO THE PLAINTIFF'S LAWYER - certified mail - and keep a copy.

And be sure to pay a jury fee. Go down to the courthouse, talk to the clerks, and pay the fee. It will be around $30.
