Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

IRS Liability

-I have been divorced since january 2000 and on my own since Feb 98.

- My divorce agreement states my ex husband liability toward the IRS for

97 and 98.

-He did not pay and the IRS failed to notify me of anything regarding

that account. I kept up with monthly telephone calls and I was always

ensured that payments were being made by my ex.

- I requested equity spouse relief based on the fact that I had already

paid taxes out of my paychecks and was never notified of all the

penalties and interests charged to the account. My request was in a

preliminary decision denied. I am appealing.

- In the meanwhile, my ex is cutting a deal with an offer and

compromise with the IRS which will leave me as the only responsible. (he

owes for several years-I am a perfect tax payer)

- I would like to make me sign a form that in addition to my divorce

decree gave me another document through which I can easily sue him.

Like a promissory note. What do you advice?

Thanks!

Re: IRS Liability

I believe you can sue him for his breach of the divorce decree.
