Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas
I joined a debt management co in march. Sears accepted the proposal and has been receiving payments. They have sold the account to a law office/debt collector. My debt management co is aware and has sent a proposal to the law office, which we haven't heard back from yet. I have talked to the debt collectors because they have been calling me at home and work. I explained the situation to them and how I am working on debt management and they could call the debt manangement co and about proposal been sent, but they refuse. I don't have the money to payoff debt or the price they want to negogiate. What else is there for me to do? and when talking to the people they became very rude. Are there any other options for me to do? An actual attorney hasn't reviewed the case yet according to the collectors and I don't want to have to go that route either

Your first remedy is: STOP TALKING TO THESE PEOPLE. Hang up on them. EVERY TIME.
It amazes me that people seem to think that there is some legal obligation to talk to people who call them on the phone. HANG UP. IMMEDIATELY (after telling them not to call you anymore).
And notify the "debt management" folks that you hired; it's their job to deal with the bill collectors.
Telephone bill collectors are the lowest form of life on this planet. If you let them poison your life, it's your fault .... HANG UP THE PHONE.
how true hang up....but debt managment for u to pay off debtors is rarely helpful..call a lawyer which would be equally in cost...and you may find a solution.
