Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas
Judgement from Arbitration Award
If my account was in the hands of 1 lawfirm when the Award was given, and then given to a different law firm to collect the award, and they obtain a judgement on that award, can they raise the amount owed above the Arbitration award? The original attorney included fees in the award request, and the new attorney is also adding fees and interest above the original award amount.

Re: Judgement from Arbitration Award
That depends upon the language of the award. It probably has post-award interest. It's quetionable whether the new attorney can add fees for collecting on the judgment.
