Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas
Judgement
I have an atty's office that just started calling me about a judgement that they've already placed on my credit report. I started paying them last yr and then all of the sudden they stopped contacting me and requesting the money. I was told they would not go forward if I agreed to pay and I did. Then I found out they filed and placed on my credit report. I do not have the money to pay now due to job loss and they recently contacted me several times saying they are going forward again. What can they do? I don't have the money at all. They have given me a deadline by the end of today to respond.

Re: Judgement
They can garnish your bank account and take nonexempt property...and if you paid by check, it would be wise to change accounts..they can't take your car, furniture, home,,..etc..nor paychecks
