Judgement: Company no longer exists

If a company no longer exists how is one to clear up a judgement against them they never knew they had?

That's a real stumper. You might have to do some research to find whether there is a successor in interest, or an assignee of assets, or any other entity that may have authority to clear the judgment. You might try to find their attorney that handled the litigation.

Of course, that is assuming that the judgment actually exists and is not an erroneous entry. You might want to touch bases with the court where the judgment supposedly took place and verify that it does, in fact, exist.

We have handled similar matters for our clients.
