Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Judgement for credit card debit

My husband and I are not legally married and have different names. He has a back disability and does not work and a lawsuit was filed against him for credit card debit in 5/2007. We do not have credit together. According to the court website an answer from the judge is due 06/2008. We have a home, but the mortgage is in only my name, but both of our names is on our house and bank account. I'm sure there will be a lien on the home for the debit which is 2900.00, but I'm wondering what else I should prepare myself for? I can't afford to pay his past credit cards debits.

Re: Judgement for credit card debit

If the creditor obtains a judgment, they cannot attach your house or your wages. They can reach your bank account.

How is he your husband, but you are not legally married?
