Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

judgement for credit card debt

I have old debts due to be seriously ill in 2000, I stopped paying on credit cards in 2000 due to no income and very ill I am single so could not get any type help in Tx. Question is my mobile home is homesteaded, can a judgement be placed on my home, also my only income is Soc. Security, can they touch it.

Also what is the statue of limitation in Tx for credit card debt in 2007.

Being on Social Security I am not able to hire a lawyer to help me out.

Re: judgement for credit card debt

They can't touch your mobile home if you are living there; that's your homestead. They can't touch your Social Security. The SOL is four years on a contract, so you have a solid defense if they bring a lawsuit.
