Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Judgement

My husband had a judgement from a local bank (Plains National) placed against him in 1998. It was settled and paid in 2000. We have a release of judment lien dated in 2002, a letter acknowleging that the debt was paid from the bank also dated in 2002. For the second time since the judgment was released we have received a writ of attachement served on us trying to collect this debt. Do we have any grounds to sue this bank for damages? Every few years this comes at us again when the bank changes attorneys. Thank you very much.

Re: Judgement

Generally, successful lawsuits are measured in terms of financial loss. If you lost money because of this event, you would have a valuable lawsuit. If not, it is technical defect which you can clear up by sending a copy of the release of judgment to the bank.
