Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas
A judgement was issued against my now ex-husband. The judgement was issued while we were married, but separated. My question: Since he has remarried and has another home, can the judgement be levied against the home we had together. In the divorce he gave it to me, but it can't be put in my name only until after it is paid off, about 6 mos. Can they take my home?

No. You house is protected by what's called the "Homestead Exemption" - which means that creditors cannot take your house.
