Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Judgement, small claims court

I have a judment against me for a car

accident that happened about 4 years

ago. I am now trying to locate the

person to pay him but cannot get in

touch or locate him. I have tried

various phone numbers and certified

letters to the addresses on file, but no

luck. What would be my next step to

get this removed off of my credit?

The Civil Practice & Remedies Code has a procedure in which you can pay the funds into the registry of the Court and obtain a Release of Judgment. Its probably advisable to hire an attorney to do this.
