Re: judgement on unsecured credit card debt

Judgments can be collected by having courts seize all nonexempt property...go to texas nonexempt properAccordingly, the Texas Legislature enacted laws exempting certain types of personal property from seizure or attachment, particularly Tex. Prop. Code 42.001, 42.002, and 42.0021. These sections protect debtors from seizure or attachment of a variety of particular items from clothing, bicycles, and firearms to livestock, and set a protected value of personal property of $60,000 for a family, or $30,000 for a single adult.(2) Secured creditors on any particular item of property are not bound by this exemption.(3)
