Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas
Judgment
Can a creditor seize a checking account on a judgment that was placed approx 5 years ago? The judgement was placed in Virginia but we live in Texas. I have an attorneys office that is threating to freeze and seize my checking account. Also can intrest be added to the amount of the judgment?

Re: Judgment
A sister-state judgment can be entered in Texas as a Texas judgment. A Texas judgment is good for ten years before having to be extended. If the judgment allows for post-judgment interest, it will be added.
