Latches

Can you explain what ''latches'' is for me. I understand that if do not try to collect a debt or money for a certain period of time that you waive the collection or debt.

It is laches -- and it is a common law concept in the law that a person abandons a legal claim if they do not pursue it with diligence. It is different than the Statute of Limitations, and would rarely apply in the case of sworn account.
