Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

lawsuit for a debt

I was served for a debt owed and it has been 34 days. I did not answer and expect a default judgement. Last night I had a note on my door, that a constable was trying to serve me a supeona. Would they still have a court date?

Re: lawsuit for a debt

possibly..if you kept the paper work..you would find the phone # of the Court..call them ..but common sense tells one to answer any court case after being served..you may be sued for $$4000 but if you answeer..they Court will not grant a default and if you take time to appear..frequently judges do not rule for plaintiffs...but you can read the paper work and see if there is a default..so good luck...but being an ostrich is not helpful..
