Lean on property for old credit card dept

I have a credit card debt that is fifteen years old that I do not intend to pay. However a collection agency has called and told me that with the new law inacted by congress, that they will be putting a lean on my property. Allso this collection agency has already turned me in to the three major credit reporting agencys for dept collection.Is this legal ?

Their reporting a 15-year old debt is a violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

I don't know what federal law they're thinking about, but they cannot put a lien on your property without first reducing it to a Texas judgment. And legal action is barred by limitations, so any attempt at a lawsuit would be a further violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
