Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Is it legal for a debtor to demand your whole months income? I had responded by informing them concerning the amount that I brought home in income and that I could not possibly afford the amount they were requesting because of a sudden family illness, they responded by saying that I promised to send them that amount.

Why are you even talking to these people? If they call again, tell them you aren't going to pay them.

If they call back, tell them you aren't going to pay them.

Do this every time they call. Tell them you aren't going to pay them, and hang up.

You should plan to take care of your rent, your phone, your groceries, and your car payment. And your family.
