Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas
Liability of credit card debt after spouses death
Our credit cards are in my husband and my name. He is the primary. He just passed away. Am I liable for the debt on the cards?

Probably yes. They will first look to your spouse's estate, then to you. The debt is a community debt unless they specifically agreed, in writing, to look only to your spouse's separate assets rather than the community credit.
