Liable for Husbands past debt

I am newly married and have realized that my husband has alot of credit card debt that I didn't know about. In the case of his death, would I be liable for those debts before our marriage?

You would not be liable for his debts incurred before marriage.

Just make sure that the debts are before your date of marriage and keep that information secure.
