license suspension

Can an insurance company suspend your license without any sort of court judgement or proof that it was even you, that had the accident, besides your license number and name?

Re: license suspension

The State of Texas suspends licenses, not insurance companies..and you will get notice to appear in Court before suspension..

Re: license suspension

The insurance co. does not suspend your license. They file a petition with DPS because you did not have insurance or make payment on an accident that was your fault (or so they say). Then you are supposed to get a copy of a notice (if you have the right address on your license) that says you can come and offer a defense (if you have any). Then an administrative judge for the DPS will decide whether or not your license will be suspended. Good Luck.
