Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

I live in Texas, my husband [assed away last year, he left a $12,000 dollar debt with Bank of America. I did not have any signing rights on the loan and had never signed any papers making me responsible. My husband left no estate. I notified Bank of America of his passing and they said I would have to pay it because I was his wife. They changed the account into my name without my consent and assigned a differennt acct# to it. I have written them 2 times requesting some proof on their part that made me responsible for this loan and did not receive an answer from them.I nave called numerous times and all they say is that I just need to keep making the payments. I cn no longer afford to do this. Is there anything else I can do? Please let me know.

Don't pay anymore..call me as based on those facts BA needs to be sued..and frequently juist a letter will make them withdraw BUT if you have paid anything..they need to pay it back
