Loan to a Friend

I loaned a friend $7,000 in two payments one in Dec. 2002...the other in Jan. 2003. He has not paid me any money yet. If I wish to file a lawsuit to collect this money is there a statue of limitations in the state of Texas?

The statute of limitations for suit on a debt is four years.
