loan statue of limitaion

I had a loan in 2002. I lost my job and couldn't pay. I am being sued by a collection angncy.I have noy paid on thjs loan since 2002. They served me papers and there seem to be Contract with my name signed to it. this suppose to be contract is not dated.I wanted to know if there is a statue of limitation on a loan?

No S/L for the loan, but there is an S/L within which it can be sued upon. That's four years from date of default.
