Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas
loaned money
if I have loaned some money to my husband, .. and its over 10,000$, ... we have no written account of that money.
What should I do to secure myself legally, .... and I do not make a bif deal about it, .. cause i trust him and everything, .. but to be safe, .. what is defined as a legal document, ......
1. if he signs on a paper in which he admits to have taken that money from me, .. is that legal, ....
Thank you

Re: loaned money
You'd need a document called a promissory note where the borrower admits to receiving a certain sum and promises to repay that sum in a manner and by a date certain. Without that, the money you loaned is considered as a gift to the community estate.
