Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

i loaned 30,000usd to a friend in dire need. he mad ethis video that he was going to pay me by sept 1st. he still had not paid one cent and is now ignoring my calls. the loan was made in texas, and though he did not sign anything, he made a video promising to pay, and in case something happened to me, he would pay my sister.

can i get my money back? or am i at total loss here?

No, you can recover your money through suit, but if he had to borrow the 30k, he probably cannot pay you. I would file suit and get a judgement and if he ownes a home or anyother property I would file a lien against said property. You might have to keep refiling the lien for judgement against him/her.
