Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas
How long is Writ good for?
If I get a garnishment writ against the bankaccount of the debtor, and he's taken everything out right after a payday, how long can I consider the writ of garnishment good for? Also if I get a writ to inspect his home for assets what does that mean, and what can I actually do, drawers, look for records, appraise his belongings? I also just found out that he has a roommate that he shares the APT with, but they have not connection other than their belongings are inter-tyned. Thankyou for all your expertise!

Re: How long is Writ good for?
A writ of garnishment is against the institution that holds the accounts. If there's no money, you may be liable for the bank's attorney fees. The writ is good when it's served, and ends when the institution determines whether there are funds or not.
