Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Medical Bill

I received a medical bill over one year after services were rendered for the balance that insurance did not cover. They sent me a notice saying they were going to file a claim in small claims court. At this time I am unemployeed (stay at home mom) and have no extra money to pay any of this bill. If I would have received this bill when the services were rendered I would have been able to pay in full. Their lack of record keeping should not become a financial emergency for me. What should I do?

Re: Medical Bill

Call them, explain the situation, and see what sort of payments you can make to pay off the bill over time. Don't start blaming them for poor records-keeping.
