Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas
Medical Debt Collection
Awhile ago I was admitted to the ER and have since received the bill. I am currently unemployed and unable to pay the bill. Right now they are threatening to send my bill to collections and the credit bureau if I don't pay immediately. My question is it legal to try to gain household information for the person I'm living with (my Mother) when I am not a minor nor can they tie the bill to her in any way? Also, is there anything I can do to get help with this debt that I truly cannot pay at this time?

Re: Medical Debt Collection
If your mother did not guarantee payment, no collector could go after her for your obligations. But if they do, tell them to stop calling..it is a violation of fair debt collection..
