Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

mom stole credit

My mother took out 12 cards in my name maxed them all out. Late fee's and all. I'm pretty sure she isn't going to help me pay them. I'm kinda in a bind because I have other little sisters. Is there any other action I can take besides taking her to court?

Write to the credit card companies and let them know what happened; that the debts are not yours and that your mother stole your identity. You can also file a police report about the identity theft.

It would be a waste of time and money for you to take her to court, since it's pretty evident that she wouldn't have the money to pay a judgment.
