Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

A few months before my daughter divorced her husband, he signed up for a credit card with her Social Security number. Got it, and put $5000 on it. Now there is a collection company wanting her to pay the bill. No one knows where the Ex is, what should she do?GLH

She needs to read her divorce decree. Usually it will state who is responsible for undeclared debt. She also needs to file a police report and claim this as fraud, since she had no knowledge that he created the account without her knowledge or permission (and apparently while they were separated).
