Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

My mother has dementia that has progressed to to severe dementia. I have filed on her disability insurance she has been paying on for tears with citibank. They continue to send letters with additional questions. I feel thay are postponing their decision. Is there anything else I can do? The debt is about $8000.00. She will be going to a nursing home soon.

She might consider filing a bankruptcy to alleviate her on all of her debts.
