Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Hello, I really ned help!!! I owed a credit card company 17K. The Credit company filed a Rule 3.740 against me to garnish my wages, I recently received a letter stating so, and I have also received a letter from my current employeer, stating they have received a garnishment order in my behalf in which letter my employeer is asking me to complete an statement of exemptions. What can I do?? Are they really going to start garnishing my wages? the lawsuit is in CA, I have now lived in TX for over 6 months, does this make a difference?

Please help!!!
