Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Non Co-signer responsiblity

Our daughter passed away in March. A doctor's office is trying to sue us for her debt that they turned into a credit card bank card/loan and has my husband's name as a co-signer. We have not signed any type of loan/credit application for our daughter. We did get power of attorney of her estate due to her husband's medical conditions. All the other creditors that she had, has settled with no claim. We would like to know what our legal options are, does this doctor have the right to turn his patient's balances into a credit card bank/loan? Does he have the right to sue the parents in the event of death? What are our rights since we did not sign any form for credit for her or ourselves with this doctor or bank?

Re: Non Co-signer responsiblity

You cannot be held legally responsible for your late daughter's debts unless you agree. If the creditor refuses to remove this, sues you or puts it on your credit report, feel free to contact me. I handle these type cases. You may have remedies against the debt collectors.
