Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

notice of unpaid debt

my wife has taken money from the bank she worked for. they have taken all the money from 4 of our accounts. 2 n my name only,1 n her name & 1 joint. last statements from bank show a negative 13,700. myself only have now recieved a notice of unpaid debt from a collection agency in the amount of 83000 & said they would settle for 25000.notice says i have 30 days to dispute or the debt is valid. they are threating to enter the debt into telechecks files. do i respond to the letter ? the debt is from the bank but all of our accounts are closed. how can they come after me only & am i responsible for this debt when i had no knowledge this was taking place. thank you in advance

Re: notice of unpaid debt

Hire a lawyer..in my opinioon the bank had no right to take your accounts nor to bill for wife's debt..is she facing criminal charges or did you join with her to give up your assets??
