Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

I owe ed $800, and supposedly $1000 for rent that I did not agree upon or know about until he asked me to move out? this has caused me to be homeless until i get my student loan from which i was going to pay him back the $800. I will only have enough to get an apt to live in or pay ed back. Personally I can not be homeless so I have to get an apt. leaving my $800 debt and my supposed $1000 rent debt to ed. Can ed sue me for both or just the 800 i owe him? if he does sue me what are my options because i will not be able to pay the debt.
