Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas
Someone owes us almost $3,000.00. It was a friend we loaned money for a custody battle. It has been more than a year and they are not speaking to us now. Is there any way I can get this money back? Small Claims? procedure? Credit Bureau? procedure? Judgment? procedure? Do I need a lawyer? Is there something we can do without a lawyer? How much for a lawyer? Is it worth it?

You can file a lawsuit and attempt to get a judgment. As an individual, you do not need a lawyer. The biggest problem will be collecting.
