Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

I paid my credit card off and closed account. They sent me a paid in full letter. They now say that they had not recieved the money and charged me fees. Do I have to pay this off?

How did you pay it off? By check? Do you have a canceled check?

Mail them a copy of the canceled check along with a copy of the "paid in full" letter. These credit card companies have 14 different departments, and they don't communicate well with each other. Never attribute to malice what should be attributed to stupidity and incompetence.
