Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas
papers served
I was served papers in April 08 for debt collection on a car that had been reposessed. My husband left and took the car and neglected to make the payments. My question is: How long is the reasonable time before they set a court date and request judgement? and Is there a time after which they can no longer pursue the suit?

File an answer..in your own handwriting or get an attorney...and name your ex or husband as debtor who owes the money...otherwise only you will have ajudgment against you..assuming you know where H is..

You don't mention it, but there may already be a judgment against you. If you did not file an answer with the clerk, they may have taken a judgment for your failure to respond. Better check the court's file. Good Luck.
