What happens if you just stop paying credit cards?

First they bug you. Then they sue you. After they get judgment against you, they try to collect. The judgment can be renewed time and time again, gaining interest, until you either pay or flee into bankruptcy. Or they collect against your estate.

In Texas, the creditor can take a judgment and execute on non-exempt property. A judgment lasts on file for 10 years, renewable for another 10 years.

I have no clue what is allowed under Nevada law.

It stays on your credit report about 7 years.
