Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas
Not paying a credit card
Can you be arrested for not paying a credit card? I have been unemployed for a while now and I stopped paying on a card I had 2 years ago that has a remaining balance of $1100. I now have a collection agency posing as a law office saying a uniformed officer will arrest me if I do not settle with them. Is this just a ploy to get me to call them? What should I do?

Re: Not paying a credit card
You need to get in touch with me ASAP. This is very very important. I am extremely interested in your case. I travel all over Texas for this kind of case, and am willing to take on this collection agency and credit card company on a contingent fee--that means that I pay all the expenses and you don't ever worry about them unless I collect. If I can collect, I take a percentage of what I collect and get my expenses back, but if I don't, you don't ever owe me any money. No risk to you, I take all the risk. That is how strongly I feel about these tactics and this kind of case. If what you say is true, I really want a crack at these guys. Email my legal assistant, Caroline Smith, with your contact information and we will call you as soon as we get it. I would leave my number on here, but it is against the rules and this service won't allow it. I look forward to talking with you further, soon. What they are doing is not right, and in violation of the consumer protection and debt collection laws of this state. GET IN TOUCH WITH ME SOON!
