Personal Credit

I am wondering if i cancel my cell phone contract and get charged an Early Termination Fee. What happens if i dont pay it or only pay some of it? will it go negatively against my credit? is there a way i can get out of paying an early termination fee with out selling my contract? Thanks so much. (Verizon wireless)

It will go against your credit, and you may end up on the wrong end of a lawsuit.
