Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Right to Personal Property

My vehicle was reposessed. The bank who held the debt, hired Action Recovery to reposess my vehicle. The bank sent a letter to me stating I have 10 days to take posession of my personal property. Action Recovery refuses to give me my personal property. They are charging a 60.00 fee for the return of my personal property. The property they hold is mail box keys, license, social security cards, medical cards, bank card, child restraint seats, and various other items. My quesion is ''Is it legal for a recovery business to charge a fee for my personal property?''

Re: Right to Personal Property

It isn't legal for them to charge for your personal property. But pay them to get your property back, then sue them for the money.
