Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Phone Harrassment

What is considered Phone harrassment by creditors and collectors. I have on such collector being verbally abusive. I have requested they stop calling byt the calls continue to keep coming in. I asked them to communicate vai the postal service, byt the calls keep coming. They informed me that they have a legal right, to call once every 30 days if there is a balance on an account, yet I receive a call from the collector every other day.

What is considered verbal abuse, and what is the law regarding this. What steps do I need to take to stop the abuse?

Thank You

Re: Phone Harrassment

Write to them by certified mail, return receipt requested, stating that all subsequent communications are to be in writing. Forget the telephone.
