Photographer Won't give me my Wedding Pictures

I paid a photograper $450 to take my wedding pictures. Now he's telling me he lost them on his hard drive. He tells me he will give me $250 back because his hard drive was messed up due to the weather the day of the wedding. What is the max I can sue him in small claims court. I'm really hurt that I can't have my memories.

You should be able to recover the full $450.00, since you received no service for the money you paid. You cannot recover the consequential damage from the sadness of losing out on the photos of your wedding. Make sure your friends and family know what happened -- so that they don't use him in the future -- and maybe they have some pix that you can have...
