Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

putting lien on auto

I bought vehicle for grown children, vehicle is in my name. I have clear title. We are concerned with the lack of payments from them and also our exposure from insurance perspective. We wondered if we could attached a lien to the vehicle. We have proof the vehicle was purchased in our name. I assume we would be considered the lien holder.

Re: putting lien on auto

You may want to take the actual documentation to an attorney for review -- your description sounds as if you are the title owner, not a lien holder, of the car. If you are title owner, you can go pick up your car (peacefully).
