Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Real Estate Dispute -Consumer Credit Dispute

I was evicted out of my duplex and was ordered to pay the landlord the past due rent only. The landlord then filed with an attorney ( collection agency) for the rest of the lease. How can I get this removed from my credit. I do not owe him the rest of the lease because the unit had been leased shortly after I left. On that note - the place was in horrible shape and I took pictures of the property. I refused to pay rent until he fixed the air and heat that was not working. I moved into what I thought was a great deal and turned out to be the scum of the earth neighborhood. Going to college is not cheap! I would like to have this removed from my credit report and not pay him any more than he is due.

Thanks!

You can file a claim against him for damages in small claims..ie JP..but you best have your facts or he could get a judgment against you..worse than credit report..get facts straight.
