Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

real property

How do i protect my real assets? A relative deceased and left me as beneficiary of his assets. He left 1 30 year mortgaged home, 1 heavily back taxed vacant lots, 1 small money cd account, 1 unpaid personal loan and medical bills when he passed. He had 28years left on the home, 20years of unpaid back taxes on the lots the other issues. The cd was not enough to cover. After his liquid assets were used and his affairs were concluded i assumed the home loan and paid the back taxes using my liquid assets but some creditor always comes out of the woodwork now i have to pay leins and judgements to keep what i am personally paying for. What do i do?

Re: real property

Get to a lawyer that handles probate and estate work ASAP. It sounds like you may be being stuck with debts that you are not responsible for. They'll have to go over, in detail, just what you inherited, debts and all.
