Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas
I received a letter from a collection agency, that they are going to prosecute me for a returned check, the check is past the statue of limitations, can they still prosecute me, what are my rights? I think they are using illegal collections tactics, is this true?

Collection agencies don't prosecute anything; the County Attorney does that.
You can be SUED for a hot check, but that's over in the civil litigation department (the civil courts, not the criminal courts). If that happens, you need a lawyer.
