Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

received notice that they are going to sue

We received a notce from the county that a credit card company intends to have a judgen=ment issued and that we need to file a written response in 20 from the time that the notice was served. We want to work out a payment plan with them, but I don't know if I should call them or if we should write that in a letter. I also don't know what they can and can not do. Any suggestions?

Call the attorney who filed the lawsuit. Also, be sure that the debt is not older than four years. The statute of limitations for filing suit on a debt in Texas is four years. If your debt is older than that, you should contact a lawyer.

Try filing a written response like the citation tells you to do. Then call the attorney, if the debt is less than four years old, and see what you can work out.
